SolAdrash Project (Solar Home Systems)

SolAdrash is the cornerstone of our mission to eradicate energy poverty. As our flagship program, it has already successfully distributed over 7,000 solar home systems, bringing reliable, clean power to thousands of households.

We are now taking a monumental step forward by establishing a local assembly line, a move that will democratize access to solar energy, reduce costs, and create sustainable jobs within Ethiopia.

Our Approach

The SolAdrash project is centered on a dual strategy: Local Assembly and Empowered Distribution.

Local Assembly & Manufacturing: We are building a state-of-the-art assembly facility to produce certified, high-quality solar home systems locally. This reduces our reliance on expensive imports, lowers the final cost for consumers, and strengthens the resilience of our supply chain.
Integrated PURE Distribution: We go beyond basic lighting. We bundle our solar systems with Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) appliances—such as efficient water pumps, refrigerators, and milling machines. This integration allows households and small businesses to unlock new income streams.
Community Co-Creation & Training: We don't just deliver hardware; we empower communities. Through training programs and participatory design, we ensure that the solutions we provide are used effectively and maintained for the long term.

The Challenge We Are Solving

Ethiopia faces a significant energy deficit, with over 60 million people lacking access to reliable electricity. This forces rural communities to rely on dangerous and expensive alternatives like kerosene lamps and diesel generators.
